Abstract:
(Show)
This paper identifies several problems with the use of the term "Pāla International Style" and similar classifications of Tibetan art from the 12th to 14th centuries. Other attempts to classify the art of this period, based on patronage or geography, are also not without their shortcomings, particularly as more pieces of early Inner Asian art emerge and are studied.
