The article attempts to bring out some facts about the caste/ethnic composition of people of Nepal, their origin and destination by geographic regions, and dispersion of major groups by administrative districts. It seeks to investigate principal characteristics of the groups reported in the census. The data used in this article to analyze the caste/ethnic composition and their attributes were obtained from the publication of the 1991 population census. (Rajeev Ranjan Singh 2007-03-06)
