The article discusses a small, two-roofed temple with a square foundation and typical Nepalese or Newar style brick and wood which stands at Saugaltol, Patan in Kathmandu Valley. The article is written with the aim to rectify the date assigned to the temple and to identify and date the remarkable image of Shankar Narayan within. The study is aided by the reading of old inscriptions. It includes 3 leaves of plates illustrating the Shankar Narayan image. (Rajeev Ranjan Singh 2007-01-01)
