Abstract: (Show)

The article is a critical appraisal of the ethnography of Nepal. The author categorizes the ethnographic writing on Nepal into three time periods. Through a careful examination of the ethnographic writings, a gradual repositioning of anthropology through the years can be observed. The interplay between voices change as the ethnographers come to slowly understand the limits of their ethnographic authority and the ability to accurately represent another culture, as well as the limitations of the science known as anthropology. This article focuses on these issues. (Rajeev Ranjan Singh 2007-03-07)
