Abstract: (Show)

The article discusses Nepali art. Nepali art generally reflects the history and the socio-political structure of Nepal. It reflects the Nepali way of looking at the world, at human life, beauty, and hopes and premonitions of doom and apocalypse. The article has two sections. The first section covers a period of Nepali art that is considered its formative period as well as its golden age. The second section covers a period of transition to modernity and an introduction to the works of a few contemporary artists showing trends in contemporary art. (Rajeev Ranjan Singh 2007-02-27)
