The Thunder of Scripture and Reasoning (Lung dang rigs pa'i 'brug sgra) is one of two refutations of 16th century attacks on the Nyingma order by scholars of the Karma Kagyü. It is a reply to Karmapa Mikyö Dorjé's (Karma pa mi bskyod rdo rje) doubts regarding the Nyingmapa tradition authored by Sokdokpa Lodrö Gyeltsen. The second work contained in this edition (Gsang sngags rnying ma baʼi rings lugs pa rnams la rtsod paʼi lan legs par bshad pa dri med ganggaʼi chu rgyun) is a refutation of Pelkhang Lotsaba's (Dpal khang lo tsa ba) attack on the Nyingmapa school and its followers written by Trashi Namgyel, the Third Longchen Rapjampa (Klong chen rab byams pa).
