The article traces the history of medical anthropology in Nepal. The article says that Harvey Blustain published an article introducing the various levels of medicine in the central Nepali village of Sano Dumre, which is a landmark and foundation for Nepali medical anthropology. This article, which is based on field research conducted in Saano Dumre in 1999, examines the apparent changes that have taken place during ensuing years. The article discusses the changing models of illness in a village of central Nepal. It discusses transferable and non-transferable diseases and their treatment and home remedies.
