Serious disorders are attributed to evil spirits in Tibetan medicine. The types of disorders are attributed to five male and seven female evil spirits in addition to the two messengers. Each one is described with reference to all the symptoms as well as other clinical features. The good and bad prognostic features are described. The two approaches to treatment are gentle and aggressive. However, the root causes of these are three mental poisons, namely attachment, anger and delusion.
