To understand how to accurately recognize the feelings of others, in order to empathize and connect with him, a team at Emory University developed a form of meditation called Cognitively-Based Compassion Training (CBCT). Results indicated that participants improved their “empathic accuracy” in their ability to identify the expressions of other individuals. Researchers highlight how CBCT may be useful for enhancing compassion and connectivity in contributing to individual and societal well-being
