Abstract: (Show)

This is the website of the Tibet Site Seminar, a four-year project culminating in a one-month site-seminar in central and western Tibet scheduled for the summer of 2007. The program is open to students enrolled in Ph.D. programs in North American universities in art history, Buddhist studies, and Asian history. The website offers information about the program, the location of the seminar, and the people involved, as well as information for students on how to apply.

The project is directed by Stephen F. Teiser and administered by Princeton University, with funding from the Henry Luce Foundation, the Silkroad Foundation, the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation, and Princeton University. Aimed at furthering the development of art history and Buddhist studies, the Tibet Site Seminar brings together faculty from east and west in an interdisciplinary and collaborative effort.
