The article discusses the use of the mother tongue as a medium of instruction in primary education in Nepal. The article overviews a global as well as a national concern for the use of the mother tongue in primary education. The article focuses on three specific reasons and two objections for which the mother tongue should be used as a medium of instruction at the primary education level in Nepal.
