The article discusses kinship terminology in Nepal. Kinship terminology is a natural meeting point for the disciplines of anthropology and linguistics. The author reveals that the socio-linguistic characteristics of Nepali greatly appeals to western sensibilities. The author, himself being a foreigner in Nepal, shares his experiences of Nepali kinship terminology. The article also discusses the borrowing of kinship terminology in Nepali from English.
