This podcast differs from the audios that have come before. In fact, it is the commencement address for a group of trainees who have just finished an 18-month teacher training program in MBSR and MBCT. We have all sat down to mark the end of a journey together, and I share some of the aspects of teaching that have been most inspiring to me.Find more at mindfulness-based-teacher-project.org.

"In 2012, the Asia Project held an International Conference titled 'Mind and Body in Health and Harmony in the Asian Systems of Medicine'. The present volume is a result of this conference"--Preface.

The Mind and Life Institute was created as a result of communication between the Dalai Lama and Western scientists interested in pursuing the interface between science and Buddhism. Since 1987 the Mind and Life Institute has conducted meetings regularly to discuss cognitive science, neuroscience, health, emotions, consciousness, death, dreaming, sleep, ethics, physics, cosmology, biology, meditation, Buddhist philosophy, and Western psychology. The meetings have resulted in a number of books narrating the proceedings of several of the conferences. More recently, the Institute has begun to create a network of scientists, Buddhist practitioners, and scholars to engage in interdisciplinary research on meditation, emotional balance, the brain, and health. The website features the history and mission statement of the Institute, information on past and future meetings and events, references to relevant books and publications, an outline of current research initiatives, connections to the Mind & Life email groups, and profiles for all the participants in the Institute. This is a guided meditation to take you on a journey of relaxation. You will clear the clutter of your mind to calm you. It will reduce your stress level, as well as improve your overall health and well being when practiced regularly.

Mountain Meditation Practice results in a calm state of mind with acknowledgment to Jon Kabat-Zinn.

This is a ground-breaking journey across India, Tibet and China, to explore traditional medicine and natural ways of healing. In this comprehensive look into traditional medicine we connect all three countries through the core philosophy of the Five Elements, Yin and Yang and the common belief that a life-force or energy called Chi (Prana) exists that is vital to sustain a healthy life.

Neuro Mediation combines traditional meditation techniques with modern technology. With the use of brainwave training equipment as well as other biofeedback modalities individuals can learn to meditate more quickly and easily than in the past. These modern techniques grew out of decades of scientific research and the clinical use of EEG biofeedback (also know as neurofeedback or brainwave training) to train deep states. More recently groundbreaking research through brainmapping, such as Richard Davidson’s work at Keck Labs, University of Wisconsin, has added valuable information that is guiding efforts internationally to better understand and implement these new technologies. The staff at New Mind Centers has been studying both traditional and modern technologies regarding meditation and other altered states for decades and teaching hundreds how to use these technologies together for transformation and transcendance. We believe that the way westerners will fully come to embrace meditation is through the use of modern technology. Come join our workshops and lets us teach you how to meditate the new modern way using scientifically based methods and equipment. The New Way of the West is dawning.

A Workplace Table of InspirationA Table of Inspiration is a wonderful addition to life in organizations. The Table of Inspiration creates and develops what might be called a “center of gravity” for your workplace: a place where the community finds its center and communal grounding.

Smiling Mind aims to live in a world where everyone has the skills and ability to manage life's challenges and live to their full potential. This starts with a healthy mind because this underpins one's ability to live, learn and work in an increasingly complex, digitally connected and fast-paced world.

Study from the Center for Healthy Minds shows mindfulness training can help reduce teacher stress and burnout.Mindfulness, a notion that stems from centuries-old meditative traditions and is now taught in a secular way, is a technique to heighten attention, empathy and other pro-social emotions through an awareness of thoughts, external stimuli, or bodily sensations such as breath. While teachers play a critical role in nurturing children's well-being, progress in addressing teacher stress has been elusive. Stress and burnout among teachers is a major concern for school districts nationwide, affecting the quality of education and incurring increased costs in recruiting and sustaining teachers.
