Comments on the article by Tacon, Caldera, and Ronaghan (2004; see record 2004-16968-008). The comment notes that mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) is a patient-centered treatment modality that is congruent with the core values of family systems medicine. It has numerous applications in clinical and nonclinical settings, including the education of physicians. The article adds to the growing literature base on MBSR by studying its impact on health locus of control in women with breast cancer.
