The article discusses the use of biophilic design strategies in the workplace to boost productivity, reduce stress and improve the cognitive abilities of employees. The biophilic design patterns identified by consulting firm Terrapin Bright Green are noted, including visual connection with nature, non-rhythmic sensory stimuli and access to thermal and air flow variability. The application of biophilic design to the manufacturing industry is also noted.
